How to Efficiently Remove Bathroom Stains

When’s the last time you gave your bathroom a deep clean? Aside from occasionally wiping down the counters and lightly scrubbing your bathtub, you probably have crossed this off your to-do list in a while. A lack of regular deep cleaning can leave your bathroom plagued with a number of different stains, all of which are pretty unsightly. But not to worry — there are plenty of easy and cost-effective ways you can go about removing bathroom stains to get it looking pristine again.

How to Remove Hard Water Stains

If your water is filled with calcium, limestone, or other minerals, your bathroom fixtures may be covered in white, green, or blue deposit stains. Mix some baking soda and distilled white vinegar to create a paste, and use the tough side of a sponge to scrub away the build-up.

Keep in mind that, while this will remove the stains in the short-term, as long as you have hard water, the stains can come back. To avoid this, you may want to look into getting a water softener.

How to Remove Toilet Stains

For this, you can use a store-bought toilet bowl cleaner or (believe it or not) a bottle of Coca-Cola. Pour your cleaner of choice into the bowl and use a toilet brush to scrub around the bowl, paying special attention to the area right under the lip. If stains have been absorbed into the porcelain of the bowl, you can use a soft pumice stone to buff them out.

How to Remove Grout Stains

Remember that paste of white vinegar and baking soda? Use that and an old toothbrush or hand brush to scrub the grout lines in your bathroom clean. Leave the paste on for 10 to 20 minutes, then use a wet sponge to wipe the mixture away. Repeat this until you have your desired whiteness.
